We are looking for new board members to join Omidaze Productions Ltd and help guide the next stage of our journey. If you believe in the power of the arts to inform, inspire and create social change, we would love to hear from you.
You don’t need previous board experience – just a willingness to contribute, learn, and support our vision.
Who we are
Omidaze (Oh My Days!) Productions was founded in 2008 to use theatre, the arts and creativity to empower people and challenge the status quo.
We are a small, values-led company based in Penarth, South Wales, working across three areas:
- Creative Content (live and digital)
- Creative Learning
- Consultancy
From Shakespeare summer schools to radical reinterpretations of the classics, and now bold, ongoing projects like The Democracy Box and The Talking Shop, we’ve always used the arts to ask big questions – and to open doors for people and voices that are often left out.
We became Omidaze Productions Ltd in 2025 – a social enterprise and not-for-profit company limited by guarantee – to reflect our values and the world we want to help shape.
Who we’re looking for
We’re building a new Board of Directors to help lead us into the future.
We’re looking for up to five new board members, and we’re particularly keen to hear from people who:
- Have lived experience that is underrepresented in decision-making spaces
- May not have board or governance experience but are keen to grow and contribute
- Are passionate about social justice, climate action, and democratic engagement
- Share our belief in the power of arts and culture to shape society
We also welcome those with skills and experience in areas such as:
- Finance / Accounting
- Legal / Governance
- Human Resources
- Technology / AI and digital innovation
But please don’t be put off if your skills or background don’t match a traditional board role – we value a diversity of perspectives, not just professional qualifications.
Our values
At Omidaze, we:
- Collaborate, co-create and partner
- Put creativity at the core of how we work and learn
- Aim to motivate, empower, inform and inspire
- Are guided by the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales) and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals
We are also driven by a belief that access to arts and culture is a fundamental right, alongside access to education and health.
What being a board member means
As a board member (Director), you’ll support and challenge the company to stay true to its mission and values, make strategic decisions, and help us grow our impact.
You’ll need to attend quarterly board meetings (mostly online), contribute to discussions, and act as a critical friend to the company and its leadership.
This is a voluntary, unpaid position.
We are committed to creating an inclusive and supportive board. We’ll provide a full induction, and ongoing support and training as needed.
