Yvonne Murphy (the founder and director of Omidaze) has over 30 years experience in creative learning and is a qualified and experienced English & Drama teacher who has taught and worked in schools all over London, Wales and Europe. Yvonne was one of the first Creative Agents and a Creative Practitioner for the Arts Council of Wales Lead Creative Schools Scheme and has a particular interest in Creative Classroom design and use. Yvonne uses her skills and knowledge to thread creative learning into all of Omidaze’s artistic practice.

Omidaze has included young people in the professional theatre-making process with our Open Rehearsal Strategy and our workshops in schools have visited some of the most deprived areas of North and South Wales.

School Workshops

Book an a Drama workshop or CPD/INSET for teachers.

Book a Shakespeare workshop. Students will explore the story of Romeo and Juliet (or The Tempest, Macbeth or A Midsummer Night’s Dream) and have an active introduction to Shakespeare.

Book our Democracy Box workshop. Students go on an empowering interactive whistle stop tour of our UK and Welsh parliamentary and electoral system.

GO & SEE fund

Did you know that you can apply to the Arts Council of Wales to cover the cost of taking your students to see this production?

There is no deadline for Go and See, which means schools can apply at any time as long as it is at least 8 weeks in advance of the event you wish to attend.

Schools will be able to apply for small one-off grants of up to £1,000. This can be used to fund visits to high-quality arts events in galleries, theatres, arts centres and other venues. Events could include visits to performances and exhibitions or visits to experience arts professionals developing and creating their work.

Grants can cover Coach hire or public transport costs & Ticket costs. This strand is open to all schools in Wales
